Difficulties with decision making and procrastination are very common for most of us from time to time. This is often caused by anxiety about the thing we are meant to do or around the decision we are meant to take.
Our brain has a number of responses to threat and stress: fight, flight or freeze. The freeze response worked very well for early humans when the best response was to do nothing and wait until the threat had passed. This could have been bad weather, hostile tribes or wild animals. Unfortunately, this is not always the best tactic in the modern world. It also does not use all our intellectual resources of experiences and learning that we have to create new and innovative responses to unexpected and new challenges.
