Social Media Anxiety Treatment

Social media anxiety can lead to loss of self esteem, anxiety, OCD or depression; or a mixture of these.  I have developed a specific treatment plan using talking therapy and hypnosis to help treat this.

Do you feel that you check your social media too often? Positive reactions and comments can make us feel good and validated. These reactions to our posts can have the same effect as a drug by releasing positive chemicals in the brain. This can motivate us to keep checking social media to get that ‘buzz’.  Very soon we may feel that we have to keep checking and feel uncomfortable if we can’t.

Social media trolls can also have devastating effects on mental health.  Nasty, negative or defamatory comments and reactions can result in a loss of self esteem, depression, feelings of anger and helplessness.

For many of us we may feel that we need to use social media for work related reasons or to keep connected with friends and relatives. We may want to be able to manage our social media use better and to feel more resilient when we receive negative reactions.

Do you recheck your social media too often? Have you been a victim of social media trolling? Social media anxiety can lead to loss of self esteem, anxiety, OCD or depression; or a mixture of these.  I have developed a specific treatment plan to deal with social media anxiety that involves talking therapy and hypnosis to focus on:

  • Rebuilding self esteem

  • Reducing feelings of anxiety

  • Working on feeling more positive

  • Being more relaxed and lessening rechecking social media accounts

  • Increasing capacity to deal with negative reactions online

This treatment plan consists of an initial consultation and then  8-12 sessions consisting of talking therapy and hypnosis.  `
