I am a caring, compassionate and non-judgemental hypnotherapist and sleep coach who uses Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and CBTi to help people to make the changes they want to make to be successful and happy.
My focus is helping you find the solutions that are right for you and helping you access your resources and skills to make those changes.
My practice is underpinned by the latest research in neuroscience to help you make long lasting changes.
My sessions consist of talking therapy and hypnosis. Hypnosis or 'trance' is very natural helps us access our subconscious to reduce stress/anxiety and focus on making positive changes. Insomnia therapy also includes CBTi.

Sleep therapy and coaching
As many as one in four people in the UK may be suffering from insomnia according to the University of Southampton.
Good sleep is essential for mental health. I can help with many sleep problems such as:
Waking up at night
Difficulty getting to sleep
Difficulty waking up
Waking up too early
I work with clients suffering from insomnia to help them improve their sleep patterns. I do this by helping them understand why they may be having problems sleeping and then tackling those issues to help them wake up refreshed - free from stress and anxiety. I use a mixture of CBTi and hypnotherapy to help you sleep better.
What is CBTi?
CBTi (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Insomnia) is recommended by NICE as the first line treatment for insomnia. It can include:
Helping you understand more about why you are not sleeping
Looking at what may be preventing you from sleeping
Helping you to reduce stress/anxiety so that you can relax enough to get to sleep
Helping you to change routines and behaviours so that you can sleep better and more easily
Unfortunately, many health care professionals do not have someone to refer you to for CBTi so medication is often prescribed instead. Medication rarely solves the causes of insomnia.
How does sleep coaching work?
Firstly, I will do a thorough initial assessment with you to find out what techniques and therapy are most likely to help you. After the initial assessment, I will help you with concrete ideas and suggestions to help you based on your particular needs.
After the assessment I will suggest a personalised treatment plan for you which will include helping you to find a solution right for you of specific techniques and routines as well as hypnotherapy to help you in a relaxed and positive way. Treatment plans are normally 6-10 weeks for most individuals.
Insomnia treatment plan
This can be booked after the assessment and initial consultation. Sessions are 50 minutes and consist of:
Solution focused talking therapy to help you make progress towards your sleep goals
Ongoing targeted education to help you understand more about sleep based on your needs
Help to change your routines around sleep in the ways that you think will help you best
Hypnotherapy to help you relax and reduce stress/anxiety that may be stopping you from sleeping well
Most people need 6-10 sessions. A more accurate indication of number of sessions can be given after the initial consultation and assessment.
