Meet Alexandra Gibson

I am a caring, compassionate and non-judgemental hypnotherapist who uses Solution Focused Hypnotherapy to help people to make the changes they want to make to be successful and happy.

 

 My focus is helping you find the solutions that are right for you and helping you access your resources and skills to make those changes.

 

My practice is underpinned by the latest research in neuroscience to help you understand how your brain works and how you can use that knowledge to make the changes you want to make.

 

My sessions consist of working on solutions with you and hypnosis.  Hypnosis or 'trance' is very natural helps us access our subconscious to reduce stress/anxiety and focus on making positive changes.

Managing stress and anxiety

Modern life and the workplace can be very stressful. I work with  individuals and organisations to help them learn how to reduce stress and anxiety to perform better and be happier at work and at home. 

 

My approach is based on neuroscience and knowledge of how the brain works.

 

Sessions include working on solutions and trance, which helps clients access their subconscious to make the positive solutions they want to make leaving old and unwanted behaviours behind.

Good sleep is essential for mental health. I can help with many sleep problems such as:

  • Waking up at night

  • Difficulty getting to sleep

  • Difficulty waking up

  • Waking up too early
     

I work with clients suffering from insomnia to help them improve their sleep patterns. I do this by helping them understand why they may be having problems sleeping and then tackling those issues to help them wake up refreshed - free from stress and anxiety.

Fears and Phobias

All too often people have fears or phobias which can prevent them from leading the life they want to lead. It is estimated that as many as 85% of British people suffer from a fear or phobia. Happily, hypnotherapy can help free you from these.  Here are just some of the fears that I can help you with:

Decision making and Procrastination

Difficulties with decision making and procrastination are very common for most of us from time to time. This is often caused by anxiety about the thing we are meant to do or around the decision we are meant to take.

 

Solution focused hypnotherapy can be very helpful in reducing anxiety and stress to put you back into intellectual control where you can draw on your vast intellectual resources to make the most suitable decision and take the most appropriate action for you.

Post traumatic stress disorder can be caused by experiencing or witnessing life threatening situations. These highly charged situations can interfere with the normal processing of emotional memories in the brain. This can mean that those suffering with PTSD can suffer from flashbacks and cannot control when they are taken back to those experiences.

 

Thankfully, there are tools that I can use with you to help you process these memories so that you have more intellectual control over them.  I have a variety of techniques, including the Muss rewind, which I am qualified to use. Get in touch to find out how I can help you with this.
